Raised in the south-side of Chicago, Kenny Lloyd was born to produce nothing less than great music. At Vincennes University, where he majored in computer programming/networking, Kenny got his first taste of recording by working with local talent as well as recording his own music. After graduation, Kenny knew that music was his passion and decided to attend Full Sail in Orlando, Fl. to work toward a degree in the recording arts to become a certified audio engineer.

Once he completed his program, Kenny decided to move to New York to be closer to his sister, who worked in PR and had connections in the music industry. These connections ultimately landed Kenny a meeting with Tony Drootin, manager of Sony Music Studios, and an offer Kenny could not refuse– a job at Sony, which was the chance to prove himself as an engineer and the potential to showcase his own skills as an artist.

While at Sony, Kenny was introduced to recording giant, Richard Keller, who took Kenny under his guidance and offered him the chance to work as his assistant engineer. Four years after beginning his career, Sony Music Studios closed, but this did not stop Kenny from pushing forward. The closure allowed him to begin working exclusively with Cassidy and Drag-On as well as begin working with Seven Seas Management Ent. The connection between Rich and Kenny allowed many more opportunities to surface, including working (as a Pro Tools operator) with world renowned arranger and composer Bob Belden on a Miles Davis compilation album.

Kenny continues to work on new projects and is always recording new and talented independent acts. Apart from his busy schedule he is also helping build Grindhouse Records.

Amidst his busy schedule as an engineer, he has always found time to write his own music and music for other artists including writing the hook for Bow Wow’s “Big Bank Take Lil Bank” and singing the hook on a song featuring Swizz Beatz, Drag On, Cassidy and Maino.

“Chevy Doors” feat. Avenue, is one of the hot new tracks Kenny has produced as a solo artist. His newest project is a record called “Layers On Tha Wall” is due out later this year.

Bottom line–Kenny Lloyd, the engineer and the artist, is on his grind 24 hours/day, 7 days/week and is waiting for his opportunity to make it big. By the looks of it, he may not be waiting much longer.
