Description Of Music
To say this album is long overdue is a massive understatement! K-Delight has been releasing singles, remixes, compilations and performing as a DJ for well over 10 years, but yet this is his first full length solo artist album. This might give you some indication as to the amount of love and care that has gone into the 'Audio Revolution' project. "My first proper album had to be right" says K, and right it is. K-Delight has surrounded himself with various musicians to get just the right balance of hip hop sampling, production and live musicianship. Added to this he's managed to enlist the help of some of today's most influential artists and DJ's. The melodic intro using snippets of Beatles producer George Martin's voice expressing "My brief was I could use any sound I wanted" sets up the ethos for the album.
K-Delight is like a hip hop conductor as he directs the artists DJ Kentaro, Lewis Parker, Skitz The Gemini, Shinobi Stalin, Nomadee, Koaste, Evil Ed, Chrome, Shin B, DJ Woody, DJ JS1, J-Red, 2Tall and co. The beats and breaks have been chopped and looped not only for the heads but for the B Boys and B Girls uprocking on the dance floor. K-D has co produced a good chunk of the album with long time co-hort The Voodoo Guru as well as some featured guest production from new school producer Royce Rolls and the legend that is Evil Ed.
Each vocal sample has been cut, chopped and scratched together by the 'Scratch Assassin' K-Delight in a way that it's almost like the songs and samples are talking to each other, kind of like a modern day urban West Side Story. DJ Magazine's review of Audio Revolution "Some of the most hypnotic, engrossing hip-hop music I've heard all year!" pretty much sums up exactly what this album is designed to do, engross the listener!
Background
K-Delight was one of the members of the legendary UK group Jeep Beat Collective. Has since gone on to become one of the most respected DJ/Producers in the UK.
Has toured the UK with DJ Yoda and the DMC champions. Supported many touring artists such as Jazzy Jeff, Wu Tang, Cash Money, Cold Crush, Souls Of Mischief.
His 2007 compilation mix album for UKHH.com was reviewed as "Easily the best compilation this year and one of the best ever!"
His live mix 'The Headcleaner Session' which was commissioned by legendary UK graffiti artist Temper's website, is one the most downloaded DJ mixes on the internet!!!!
