Kaz was born in Scotland, but has lived in Melbourne, Australia, since 1998. The release of her debut CD "The Dinner Party" began a string of awards and recognition for her song writing, and has recently had Thrill of Your Life placed in an upcoming Australian film called Suite For Fleur - due for release early 2010.



"The Dinner Party" was produced and arranged by local musician Michael Matthews. Musicians on the CD are Justin Humphries on drums and percussion, Gary Norman on guitar, Michael Matthews on bass, keyboards and programming, Helen Mountford on Cello, and Kaz on vocals and guitar. The CD is a mix of cool jazz, funk and classic pop with a twist.



Kaz has worked mainly as a solo artist, but has 2010 sees the start of a new project with her country blues band The Dirty Revelations. The line up of the band is: Kaz on vocals and guitar, Orlando Zilich on bass, Kent Windress on drums, Karena Dalla Rosa on harmonica and Chris Goodall on keyboards.



As a writer Kaz is influenced by artists such as Elvis Costello, Joni Mitchell, Ron Sexsmith and Tom Waits, songwriters with an understanding and love of words as well as melody. Amongst the many independent artists Kaz promotes on her weekly radio show on Joy 94.9 are Ani Di Franco, The Weepies, Noe Venables, and Martha Wainright. Local talent Kaz frequently plays include Kate Miller Heidke, Jen Cloher, and Clare Bowditch. Her vocals have been compared with Joan Armatrading, kd Lang, Annie Lennox and Tracy Thorn from Everything But The Girl.



Currently, Kaz is working on new songs in the recording studio.
