Working on material for a new album and currently writing music for the Northern Stage production of "The Little Boy Who Lost The Morning" which is their children's Christmas production. Katie was awarded the JOURNAL CULTURE AWARD FOR NEWCOMER OF THE YEAR in the ceremony which took place at the lovely Northern Stage Theatre in Newcastle on Monday 31st March 2008.

unanimous choice of judges; Guy Chambers (who has written and produced with Robbie Williams, Kylie Minogue, Texas, Beverley Knight, Jamie Cullum etc), Andy McCluskey ( formed Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark and created Atomic Kitten), David Stark (Editor/Publisher of SongLink International magazine), Ian Smith (MBF Trustee and MU representative for Scotland and Northern Ireland) and Gill Mills (TV broadcaster, journalist, DJ and film promoter).
Collaborated with musician/composer/producer/DJ Nitin Sawhney. Fine is an example of the work produced with Nitin during the Aftershock project in 2005.



In 2004 I did a tour with Kathryn Tickell as part of the Nu Routes initiative to showcase new talent, me, Olivia Ross, Julien Batten and Ian stephenson had great tunes, songs and laughs around england for a week. The fruits of the Nu Routes collaboration can be found on Kathryn's album Strange but True on Park Records and also on my new album Bridges.************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************
At the Sage Gateshead I have had the pleasure of supporting one of my inspirations Karine Polwart and also folk superstars Kate and Anna McGarrigle and more recently and randomly Ray Davies.
