Kara

Kara Eubanks, a doctoral student in violin performance at C.U.N.Y's Graduate center, has performed solo and chamber music at music festivals in the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Holland, and the Czech Republic. Her orchestral experiences include membership of the Chicago Civic Orchestra and the Fontainebleau Chamber Orchestra. Previously, she has been a teacher at the String Academy of Chicago and the NIU Community School of the Arts while she earned her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from Northern Illinois University. Her major teachers have included Cyrus Forough, Mathias Tacke, and Shmuel Ashkenasi. Also an active composer/arranger, Kara’s string arrangements and performances have been featured on mtv.com, NPR, and daytrotter.com, and on record labels such as Lookout!, Eenie Meenie, Greyday, Latest Flame, Yer Bird, and Loose Tooth Records.
