The Junkyard Band Music Co. was founded when a group of musicians grew tired of the saturation of the monotonous and restricted style of production and lyricism that has somehow distanced itself far from its roots. Confident that there was more than mainstream madness, the team went deep underground and became a part the plethora of real emcees and musicians. The Junkyard Band gets its name from their approach taken on music production: work with what you have. From Texas and Cali, to Chicago and Detroit, JYB has had the opportunity to colloborate with several artists. With musical expertise ranging from jazz improvisation to HBCU marching band battles, JYB has become a part of the strong hip hop contingent determined to keep the boom bap ALIVE.
