A native of Shreveport Louisiana, Julieann Banks returned to her “hometown” of Austin Texas in 2007. In 2009 she joined Texas’ own most popular and long standing satirical folk, country, bluegrass group The Austin Lounge Lizards as bassist and vocalist.
2010 finds her back to playing her own music, solo and will her full band Julieann Banks & the Bailouts. She also sings and plays popular covers songs as a solo act and sings and plays bass in her pop party power trio The Activates. ******************
Julieann’s latest release Magazine and Race was recorded at world renown FAME studio in Muscle Shoals Alabama. The same studios where legendary recordings have been made by Aretha Franklin, Little Richard, Otis Redding and many others.
Among the musicians joining her on this recording were David Hood on Bass (Paul Simon, Aretha Franklin, Willie Nelson, Linda Ronstadt), Jeff King on guitar (Reba McEntire, Faith Hill), Roger Guth on Drums (Jimmy Buffett), Reese Wynans (Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble) and Larry Byrom (Steppenwolf, Steve Winwood). **********************
