Juke is a rock trio from the suburban Detroit areas. They like to walk tall and carry a big stick, but mostly like to carry a big stick. They mix a bunch of different genres together and make fun and interesting concoctions out of Rock, Alternative, Jam, and a little funk to top it all off.

They've played in venues all over the Metro-Detroit area, including The Magic Stick, The Emeral Theater, The Village Idiot, and many others. They've also shared the stage with many different types of acts ranging from solo acoustic acts to metal.

They love to jam but they also know when to tone it down and to go in new directions to keep their recordings and more importantly, their live shows from getting redundant. Because of their ability to improvise and Jam so well together they are constantly coming up with new material. They are a rapidly evolving trio mostly due to the fact that all three of the band members have known eachother and played music together for the better part of a decade, although they've only been together as Juke for a few years.

Joshua Roberts has obtained a large amount of skill on the guitar in just a few short years. He received his first guitar as a freshman in High School and he hasn't stopped since, and more importantly, he hasn't wanted to. He has a more rhythmic and somewhat jazzy style of playing which he mixes with his classic rock, alternative, jazz, blues, and psychedelic/ experimental influences. He is also constantly writing sometimes cryptic but always insightful and well thought out lyrics.

Dan Emmerson brings the funk aspect to the band. His bass lines add definition and color to Josh's rhythmic and intense playing style. He is greatly influenced by The Beatles and other bands like them, and it is apparent in the songs he writes. Unlike Josh's songs which tend to be more melody/ guitar hook driven, Dan's songs tend to be more chord/ harmony driven which balances well.

Nick King is a first-rate and extremely multi-talented drummer who's influences range from Metal, classic Rock, Jazz, to Reggae and Afro-cuban. He is not simply restricted to the drums however, he is teaching himself guitar and he is a talented Pianist/ Keyboardist. His work on the keys can be heard in Burnt on thie page, and on many other recordings on our main website. He is truly the foundation of the band. His creative mind allows him to turn an ordinary riff into an extraordinary one by changing his entire style of playing to fit the needs of that particular song at that particular moment.

They are currently finishing up work on another 4 song CD. Previews will be made available very soon. If you'd like a copy please send a message on myspace, or go to the main website and leave one there.

Until then, sit back and enjoy the tunes.

Josh will be updating the main website and changing the songs on this page this week so check back soon!
