Its been a long time since a young artist stepped onto the scene with his own style and flavor, one that is not generic and pushes the threshold of quality and performance to a new level.
Hailing from Far Rockaway, New York, Yung Juggz is not your everyday carbon copied artist trying to get a come-up off a gimmick. "As an innovator and never one to follow the pack, I took an art form that has been mastered, replicated and duplicated and made it my own. My foundation is hip-hop, and on that foundation I built a new genre known to a many as "Hip-Pop"
So what's "Hip Pop" you ask? It's not just a new genre, but also a new culture, a new way of life- It's hip-hop mixed with a dash of pop that is fun, fresh and young. The music reaches way across the spectrum and is embraced by the young and old of all races and cultures. It's the way we dress, it's the way we talk and the way we walk. Hip-Pop is everywhere, I'm just the delivery man- taking it to your ears!
His melodic style coupled with lyricism in its truest form speaks for itself. Be it Reggae, Hip Hop, R&B or otherwise, Yung Juggz can create it with unparalleled skill. Juggz's quest for stardom began at a young age. He got his first major shot when he opened for 8Ball, MJG and J-Kwon on the Get Crunk Tour . "I was about fourteen at the time, doing my thing, giving it all that I got. I was a kid with confidence, but it wasn't until the crowd gave me a standing ovation and screamed my name louder than the headliners- that I knew…on 4/23/89.…a star was born, it was grind time."
The road to success proved not to be an easy one. "On my journey, I came across stereotypical label reps that took shadiness to all new heights. They were like vultures….looking to swoop down and feed off of the weak, feeble and impressionable." Juggz began to see a side the business that he hadn't known existed. It was then he realized that if you were nothing else, you had to about YOUR business, cause if you weren't…no one else was either. "I've seen the term ghostwriter take on a whole new meaning…you wrote the fire…they laid the track…and like ghosts…they were out- with all your money and half your soul. And just like that, you could be left with nothing but the right to say "I wrote that" when you heard it on the radio as you sat in the passenger side of your best friends hooptie."
Juggz realized that if it was gonna happen for him, he had to do it his way, which meant strapping up his kicks and hitting the streets hard. So that's exactly what he did. "I made up my mind to start grinding my way to the top." Since then, sleepless nights have become a common way of life. " I'm in class by day…getting my education on, and by night I'm in the studio laying down another hit or in the club building relationships with the most overlooked lifelines of the music game…the Djs spinning the records." "I put out mix-tape after mix-tape, I go at it relentlessly, you're gonna hear me, whether you like it or not!"
Yung Juggz is no stranger to the internet music boom. He uses the power of the 'net, by way of forums, blogs, file sharing and social networking sites to get his music to the people.Yung Juggz has gained the interest of international fans, as he catapulted up the urban charts in London, Germany and Jamaica. In the summer of '08, he embarked on his long awaited, club tour, which kicked off in Germany before heading over to Greece. To date, Yung Juggz has co-written songs with/for many artists such as Chris Brown, Shaggy, Elephant Man, and more. Juggz is surrounded by music professionals from every genre of music and all have cast their votes and made their predictions the --this kid is the next big thing!
