DESCRIPTION:
From summer, 2013:
14"x6.5" snare drum for JT Bates of Minneapolis. 176 pieces. Oak & pine are salvaged from Superior, Wisconsin's Globe Elevator - one of the last extant timber-construction grain elevators in the US - and is original growth/virgin timber. Also black walnut and birch.
Features roundover bearing edges and inbuilt vent.
JT chose the hardware: late 50's era nickel plated Ludwig Club Date lugs and black 3-position Trick throw. The design of the drum was inspired in part by the deco-like style of the lugs.
