Amongst the concrete jungle of East London, JSB remained a vivid fan of music at the tender age of 12. Growing up JSB and his friends would freestyle over instrumentals using a tape recorder. Through persistence, practice and hard work, JSB went on to write his first ever song 'Let me be free'; a moment he recalls as extremely fulfilling. In 2004, JSB released his first mixtape 'Born to Rise volume one' and at the same time was building his own studio. Once JSB's lyrical ability, flow and delivery improved, he then released his fourth mixtape in 2008, entitled 'Truth of the Town Vol.2', hosted by DJ Dammit. By the end of 2009, JSB had clocked up to 7,000 downloads for the release of his fifth mixtape 'Truth of the Town Vol.3' hosted by DJ Ames.
The international star has performed at Unite Against Aids Concert in Liberia, where he performed alongside 2face, Tony Tetula Aki, Paw Paw (Nollywood Actors) and later went on to reach #1 in the Liberian National Charts. In the UK, he has performed at the Camden Rock, Bar Rumba, Sound Bar and Proud Galleries. JSB has been featured on numerous publications and sites such as Write on Point, Charlie Sloth's Fire in the Booth, Blastro.com, HipHopChronicle.co.uk, JumpoffTV, DJGoneTV, Pass the Mic UK, Lightning FM, Who-tune Radio, Tribenoise.com, Channel AKA, Ben TV, Voice from the streets Volume 1 (Deep Impact Records) to name a few.
The last two years of JSB's career has been rewarding, with the release of his debut video in 2010, for 'It's you' (Produced by Kingsmen Production), reaching 13,000 + views. That same year he won artist of the year in Liberia and gained a Liberian Achievement award for R&B & Hip Hop artist of the year. This year, JSB performed at the Urban Music Crown Festival 2011, and recently released his first single 'Wave' with Young Future Entertainment (YFE) and Scandal from the Choong Fam. The single is a release from YFE's mixtape entitled 'Future has begun'.
