Josh Earl is one of Australia’s hottest new comics. With a style that is totally original and fresh Josh has been a highlight of the Australian comedy circuit for the last five years. In this time Josh’s star has risen rapidly culminating in his Melbourne International Comedy Festival shows selling out year after year.

“Hilarious… An unforgettable experience, and must see viewing” Beat Magazine

Proudly born and raised in Tasmania Josh started his comedy career performing in Launceston where after only his second gig was asked to support Australian Comedy legend Rod Quantock on his Tasmanian tour. After this, Josh moved to Melbourne where he quickly made a mark on the comedy circuit, proving to be a favourite amongst audiences and peers alike with his funny songs and quirky-literary style winning him a support slot for American comedian Arj Barker’s 2006 Comedy Festival show.

“4 stars – talent to burn” The Sunday Age

His last two solo shows at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Josh Earl is a Librarian and Where Did I Come From?, both consistently earned him a place as one of The Age’s top picks of the Festival while his debut season at the Adelaide Fringe Festival saw him sell out every single performance.

"Josh Earl is a rare gem. He's smart, he's charismatic and he's worth it. Delightful" Rip It Up Magazine

Whether talking about his day job as a librarian at an inner city school in Melbourne, or his childhood growing up in Burnie Tasmania one thing is for sure, audiences love him. From the ‘too cool for school’ indie kids that frequent his shows to middle aged Librarians living out their groupie fantasies, Josh makes sure everyone feels included during his sets with his relaxed and charismatic approach to comedy.

"Pulled the audience together into a hysterical mass… some light chuckles others 'hold me down' paroxyms that threaten to tear your pants” - The Groggy Squirrel

Josh can regularly be heard as a guest on ABC774s drive show or seen on the Comedy Channels ‘Stand-Up Australia’. He can also be seen on the DVD ‘Laughapooloza’ featuring Tim Minchin, The Scared Weird Little Guys and Eddie Perfect out now through Madman. Josh also performs regularly in venues all around Australia.
