"The trick with deep house is to keep it focused on the dancefloor. Too much of the genre falls into a soporific funk, just one step to the left of easy listening. Not the tunes made by Calgary's Jon Delerious. Even on album opener "Glow", which luxurates in bass so deep it's off the gauge, you can still imagine it rocking a tiny sweatbox of a club in New York, Tokyo or London. Clubs where people get off on house music shot through with sex, soul and 6am moments. For that's what No Warning has in abundance - dubby beats, rinky dink acid lines and dis(co)lated voices floating in and out of the mix. Deep house for the dancefloor? Now there's an interesting concept."

"If deep house is a connoisseur's form, then Calgary's Jon Delerious is its newest gourmet chef, serving up a clutch of sizzling tracks on his debut album. Following in the footsteps of Western Canadian house impresario Gavin Froome, Delerious bathes his tunes in a vat of dub textures, leaving no stone unturned in search of hazy ambience. And while tracks like "Orange Eyes (Dub Revolution)" and "Desavibes" will leave you fiending for a spliff, the Arabic-tinged "Percussive Slide" will jolt you out of reverie, commanding you to the dance floor without delay. Of the many late-night tracks here, "Tekfunk" stands out as exemplary, a microhouse anthem driven by a sinister synth squiggle and a hypnotic shuffle-tech pulse. Canadian house music has its new hero, and his name is Delerious."

"Vancouver’s favourite label dishes up some lush grooves once again with Jon Delerious and his dubby deep house style. The opening track ‘Glow’ instantly sets the scene with dark moody beats, dub vocal touches and hints of ska percussion. From here on it’s a real masterclass in blending seemingly abstract instruments into tracks that ooze warmth, dark quality and a direction to lead you into the depths of the darkest dance floors. As a debut albums go this one shows just how well Nordic Trax select their artists and sounds before unleashing them on the public. An album bound to get some time on the stereo over the holiday period, especially in those late night moments."

"The label name implies a kind of cool. The artists surname a kind of desire state. But the title ‘No Warning’ is a falsehood. This boy has previous, be it with Nordic Trax, Exun or on Lee Burridge’s ‘Nu Breed 5’ for Global Underground. And so he continues with this his debut longplayer. The dubby deep deep house we’ve come to expect comes to the fore. This is for the music connoisseur, house for the subconscious. The title track with its Detroit spin, distant vocals and back to basic basslines is worth the ticket price alone. Then you have a further ten tracks to lose yourself in. This is hypnotic, horny stuff that needs no warnings. Delerious is good for ya. Full stop. 4/5"
