DESCRIPTION:
Directed by Lech Kowalski and starring John Spacely. This clip features 2 artistic vignettes: a climactic, stylized dope shooting montage filmed partly in very dangerous Tompkins Square Park at night... and a Lower East Side walking sequence set to "The Message" by Grandmaster Flash.

Filmed 1982-3 just before the discovery of the AIDS virus, Johnny Thunders was involved with this project at various stages, but was ultimately replaced. JT was strung out on coke+dope during this period and was more fucked up than Spacely. Key footage from "Gringo" ended up in "Born to Lose" many years later.
