John Lingard

Pop rock artist John Lingard was born in Nottingham, England. A quiet achiever, he grew up in a Christian household who shared a passion for music.
John and family moved to Australia at the age of ten, beginning in Sydney before moving to Bendigo, Victoria. While everything from Nick Drake
and Sting pumped from the home stereo, John was to be found working in his room developing a love for guitar and scribbling his life and observations
into profound lyrics. It was in Bendigo that the church first recognised John's raw but honest voice; providing him with motivation to sing and record his own songs.
After moving to Melbourne for University, John Lingard was born as a solo artist and in 2007 John began performing around Victoria, picking up a solid following.
His lyrics channel coincidence into well-crafted, catchy love songs fed by a country rock vibe. John is influenced by a motley crew of sensitive songwriters such as
Sting, Ben Gibbard, Chris Martin and the other John (Mayer).
Late 2007 saw the release of his first EP entitled "Stranger", recorded at Woodstock Studios in St Kilda resulting in the formation of The John Lingard Band.
The band are one of Melbourne's most exciting acts with an undeniable stage presence and rich sound and are working on a second EP
