JOHAN ILVES & MISS MIGOVA @ PROTON RADIO (INKFISH SHOW)

REVIEWS:

"WEEPING BANDIT EP"

“Johan Ilves previous merits includes releases on Nervous, Stealth, Global Underground and Plastic City. Now he debuts on Tolerant with a cool deep semi techy number with some spaced out mariachi-influences. The remix comes courtesy of Lewinger of Rocha & Lewinger fame, who've been taking the techno world by storm over the past few years. Lewinger teams up with friends Nexus DJ & Mon on this one, delivering the solid clubby sounds you have come to expect from these guys.”

Danceradio: Whenever crops in my email box new tunes from Tolerant I’m very excited as I don’t know what to expect. Believe me that life without a surprise is boring and Tolerant knows how to cheer us up and to turn up the volume instantly with each of their release. Johan is a producer of great caliber and his excursion in the deep tech house jungle turns out to be a sure winner for the dance floor. That latin influenced sound in the break adds atmosphere and sense of surprise that dancegoer loves. The whole track keep you pumping and rumbling non stop. The nexus Dj mix is deeper, groovier and very playful with a really unique and stand out sound environment. Sure winners for anyone who dare to come across to the weeping Bandit! 10/10

"CAMPFIRE STORIES"

M8 MAGAZINE: "Johan Ilves has been causing quite a stir in the dance world after his "Disc Legion" on Kinky, which had Hernan Cattaneo's knickers in a twist. Here though, I think he goes one better with two verions of "Campfire Stories". Someone described this as having a Spaghetti Wastern hook, another a Russian folk song, I would say, however that it has a more Mediterranean vibe, a bit like Matzak's "Girl in Water" on Boxer. The original mix is on a driving, progressive house vibe, but my favourite is the minimal mix where evryhting is stripped back so you can get the full effect of the stunning melody. 8/8"

SLICK DJ: "It's not often that minimal house really makes me sit up, let alone want

to get up and dance. Johan Ilves's last track "Disc Legion" got alot of

high profile support from the likes of Carl Cox, but this one is set for

greater heights. Epic to say the least, it steadily builds into a

haunting cinematic masterpiece of minimal tech house. Forget the

marshmellows, and get on the floor." 4.5/5

INTERNATIONAL DJ MAGAZINE: "It has to be said I wasn’t expecting this from Kinky Vinyl, this release shows they have managed what so many labels don’t, move with the times and move well. This is somewhere in between prog and minimal. The original’s big keys are melodic and the use of click-y percussion are second to none. The minimal mix has to be my fave though with its sweet chilled sound running throughout. Perfect warm up material." 4/5

"WRONG NUMBER"

M8 MAGAZINE: "The original mix is a fusion of tech beats, minimal grooves

and 80s influences with a synth line that takes u right back to old computer games soundtracks - Ahh happy days! Further fun comes with Greg Kobe

Mix, wich adds a deeper electro vibe similar to the styles of hot remixers

Jim Rivers and Micky Slim, which is surely no bad thing. And with the addition of a hooky vocal it all comes together rather nicely. Without lighting the world up this is a solid release sure to gain some broad support from DJs all over the world, with us included." 6/8

"DISC LEGION"

MIXMAG Update: "Whilst the original is a deep excursion on a minimal tip, the Greg Kobe remix is heading straight for the jugular. With a jackin Chicago bassline and enough mad synths to make you feel dizzy, this captivating electro chugger goes right off. One tune truly hungry for action 5 Jerry Bouthier five." 5/5

INTERNATIONAL DJ MAGAZINE: "Its time get deep, peeps. Very deep in fact. Hell this is having a chat to Francis Bacon at the bottom of the Atlantic ocean deep. Smooth, slightly unevising chords take take the role in this heavywieght musical show that's highly reminiscent of Trentemöller. For a completly different, techno style version of things check the Greg Kobe remix - what a contrast!" 4/5

DJ MAG: "Johan’s original is a satisfying, but deep and very minimal prog outing, with pin-sharp percussion. It also features what sounds like a church organ set in ‘atmospheric background’ mode! Could be too stripped down for many floors though so bring on Greg Kobe’s mix… He shifts it rapidly up the gears, taking away the minimal feel and bussing in all manner of atmosphere! Most importantly his jacking backing track turns ‘Disc Legion’ into an uncontainable floor-monster!" 4/5

CLUB SUPPORT: Carl Cox, Ferry Corsten, Tiesto, Hernan Cattaneo, Roger Sanchez, John Aquaviva, Paul Thomas, Andi Durrant, Dave Lambrecht, Flashbrothers, Deepgroove, Riley & Durrant, Mason, Sebastian Davidson, Jimpster and more!!
