Joann Ellis Music

The Joann Ellis Music experience combines 21 years of piano and vocal work. Other inspiration is gained from years of percussion and guitar study, but you won't really see those instruments played at current shows. I am presently flying solo through the musical world, though the seeds are being planted for collborative work. Ideas are welcome.



Musically speaking, I have been described as "singer/songwriter" and also "lounge/cabaret." Some claim to hear the influence of jazz, though I've never actually studied or purposefully emulated this wonderful genre. And of course, I did study classical piano for 10 years before breaking free (at least for a while) to pursue my own composition and popular music. To be truthful, I reject - or rather recognize the limitation - of such attempts at likening me to one person, and differentiating me from another, so I simply suggest you listen for yourself and go from there.
