Stage fright is something unheard of for Joachim Bergström.

Basically raised on stage after being born into a family of generations of actors,

Joachim himself has an extensive background in music and acting.

In addition to running a few of the most popular soul clubs in Stockholm for years, Joachim has also sung on the albums of superstars like Céline Dion and Josh Groban and provided background vocals for numerous artists, among them Britney Spears, Westlife and Marie Fredriksson of Roxette.

But its not until now that Joachim has gotten around to record an album of his own.

He simply hasnt had the time . But after having met and jammed with the world-renowned Swedish jazz musician Magnus Lindgren at a party, Joachim decided the time had come. The chemistry between himself and the saxophonist and result of their joint endeavour was simply too good to ignore.

The result of their collaboration is the outstanding JB Quintet album, where the duo has managed to put together an impressive list of Swedish musicians to do their very own interpretations of jazz classics and evergreens.

The album was actually the very last to be recorded in the reputable Polar Studio in Stockholm before it closed, a studio started by pop legends ABBA in the mid 1970s where artists like Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones and Backstreet Boys have recorded throughout the years.

Its perhaps easiest to describe Joachim as a modern, updated version of the classic crooner, following in the footsteps of suaves Mel Tormé , Chet Baker and the great Frank Sinatra and yet putting his own personal touch to it all. Joachims own personal favourites include legendary names in soul like Donny Hathaway, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye.
