With an average age of 19, Jil Station is a potent mix of glamour, hip-shaking beats, intelligent lyrics, and good old-fashioned rock and roll. If you have been bored by the timid awkwardness of most young bands, then you havent seen the spectacle that is [front-man] Kyle Dreaden, says Atlanta Music Guide. Dreaden works the stage with an attitude that captures the performance-art aspects of Elton John, David Bowie and Freddie Mercury.

Atlanta-based Jil Station solidified its line-up in early 2006 with members Kyle Dreaden (vocals/keys), Chris Barnett (guitar/vocals), Adam Holzwarth (bass), and Zak Schroerlucke (drums). When it came time to choose a moniker, Dreaden, a self-proclaimed dedicated follower of fashion found the answer among the pages of his beloved GQ Magazine. I was reading GQ and saw an article on German designer Jil Sander, says Dreaden. Her suits were like mod uniforms that were so understated but completely to the point. I saw a similarity to our music; mod, understated, but completely opinionated and impulsive. Thus Dreaden borrowed the first name of the designer, Jil with one L, and titled the project Jil Station.

The band released their debut album, Still Love, on July 18, 2006. Produced and Engineered by Jeff Tomei [Smashing Pumpkins, Matchbox Twenty, Heather Nova] at Cock of the Walk Studios in Kennesaw, Ga., Still Loves eleven tracks reflect elements of early British Invasion and certain aspects of new-wave. Dreadens intelligent, baritone-voiced lyrics provide catchy pop hooks with a dark, film-noir feel. Highlights from Still Love include the single Vanguard, the gritty retro-tinged anthem Behaviour, and fan-favorite Parlour.

If [the bands] charisma is in any way a product of youthful arrogance, it is a confidence that has been earned, says Atlanta Music Guide. The release of Still Love has fueled Jil Stations buzz, earning the video for their single Vanguard a home at MTVU and MTVs 120 Minutes (Latin America) and earning the band a profile segment on Comcasts Bands on Demand. Jil Station will grace the stage this fall with performances at ASCAPs showcase during the Atlantis Music Conference, a headlining slot at The Paste Magazine Rock-N-Reel Festival, and a performance on the main stage during Taste of Atlanta.
