Jill Leighton

Jill Leighton, Scottish singer songwriter,is known for creating waves with her unique form of freestyle vocals and refreshingly captivating lyrics. Closely aligned to Folk and Blues, her songs are deep, melodic, sometimes obscure – but at all times – heartfelt. Her voice has been described as pure, individual and haunting and captures the listener. Jill draws her inspirations from the many artists and musicians she admires, and the wide range of musical influences coming together has given Jill creation that she uses to great effect. In her early years, Jill experimented with various instruments – piano, violin, and even bagpipes – now her setup for shows is the acoustic guitar complemented by her harmonica and outstanding vocal ability, and her newest addition being the Dulcimer which compliments her strong style perfectly. Definetly something to be seen.

Jill has performed at some of Scotland’s largest music festivals including the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh and Celtic Connections in Glasgow. She has also toured the US building quite a reputation for herself, working with some of the best including Neal Casal of Ryan Adams and the Cardinals.

Her charm and magic on stage is hypnotic and leaves a lasting impression on all those lucky enough to witness a musical performance by Jill Leighton.
