Singer/Songwriter Jennifer Levy, born September 8th in Winnipeg,Canada, was raised by her parents and two older siblings. Jennifer has been singing since age two and writing lyrics since age eight. Her musical background stems from her father who is also a Singer/Musician. Her first live performance was age eleven for a charity event with him, to an audience upwards of 2000 people. It was there that Jennifer realized performing was inevitable. She proceeded to enter and win every contest she could, including taking 1st place every year at her elementary school talent show grades six through nine. At age 13 Jennifer started singing live at local bars. So driven in fact, she entered a contest geared toward 18yr. olds, after being told she was too young to enter, they gave her a chance, she took home 1st place with Grand Prize; a live performance on main stage at an outdoor festival for an audience of 30,000 people. Jennifer knew on that stage she was home. Another example of Jennifer's drive; At age 17 on a family trip to Las Vegas, she and her sister ventured into the Famed Motown Cafe where Jennifer insisted to the band that she wasn't leaving until she sang atleast one song with them; and she did. Returning home, Jennifer finished school as Valedictorian, eager to move on; she knew in her heart that her small town couldn't take her where she wanted to go. She alone travelled Canada for a few years in search of her dream, before calling Toronto home in 2001. She has spent her time developing her talent and perfecting her craft as a songwriter and performer. Jennifer can sing a variety of genres; however she has always felt Vintage Soul is her true passion. The artists who have influenced her include: Otis Redding, Etta James, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Carole King, Bob Dylan, Joe Cocker, Leon Russell, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Raitt, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, and a variety of others, including more recent artists; Paolo Nutini, James Morrison, John Mayer and others. Jennifer's goals include humanitarian efforts and spreading love around the world, which she will accomplish through her voice, words and determination.
