In times of peril and stagnation, America produces leaders who move our country forward. Like Eric B & John F. Kennedy before him, Jayson Castor, aka J-Cast, stands ready to assume destiny’s mantle of greatness…as President of Hip-Hop-Rock-Soul.

On his forthcoming album entitled, J-Cast for President, the candidate kicks off his musical campaign with the help of Youngstar MBC (music based content) veteran musical politicos Peter “p-kards” Kardolus (producer/campaign manager) and John “onefrazier” Frazier (chief-of-staff/executive producer). Poised to breathe life into a genre some musical leaders have claimed is dead, J-Cast for President - The Album is the next coming of nothing you’ve ever heard…a unique musical vision that would result from Lenny and Justin meeting LL and Eminem, on their way to a Seal and Akon co-headlined concert.

The scion of musical royalty, Jimmy Castor of the legendary Jimmy Castor Bunch, J-Cast began playing the piano at the age of nine and wrote his first lyrics in his teens. Abandoning the safe harbor of pedestrian popular music, he forged the group Turnstyle, creating a local NYC band that epitomized the hip-hop/rock genre, and whose message spread quickly from its home base to the American heartland. With Turnstyle, J-Cast tasted success’ sweet nectar, but he realized that developing a sound that would touch as many souls as possible necessitated that he expand his musical horizons. Those who knew him quickly realized that J-Cast’s true talent lay in his skills as a conduit for togetherness and progress. A true child of Hip-Hop imbued with a love for the musical genealogy comprising the genre, including jazz, blues, rock and soul, J-Cast found himself disheartened by the lack of uniqueness and inventiveness in the genre and in response collaborated with Youngstar. Youngstar fused J-Cast’s unique talent, aesthetic, and work ethic, rooted in the classic musicianship that is his namesake, with rare grooves that moved the crowd -- creating a unique unity of spirit. With distinctive humility, J-Cast reminds us that, “The best education I received was being at a concert with my father and seeing how music could bring people from all races, all cultures, all backgrounds together in a love for the rhythm, the beat, the pleasure of music. It taught me that ordinary people, when brought together by a love for something so soulful yet seminal could experience the extraordinary.”

With a love of all music genres, and unlimited energy, J-Cast knows that there was a chance to make a difference, to bring a new sense of direction to the musical landscape. As a candidate for the President of Hip-Rock-Soul, J-Cast continues his quest to bring communities together through their love of music. He believes that music influences culture, that music is the way in which people express their souls, share their pain & joy, revel in the sheer pleasure of a beat brought to life, and move to an irresistible groove.

J-Cast leads the charge in today’s musical landscape because he understands and embodies the way that this generation listens to music -- for the quality of the music and for the way it moves them -- not for its genre or its position on the charts. The times call for a great leader, someone to synthesize and to distill the dreams, the hopes and the needs of a generation. A true artist who can hone the power of the music lover, to use that power to effect a change in the world of music and in the world at large -- to let true music reign over studio or major-label designed facsimiles thereof. J-Cast is that man. If you truly love music, if your I-POD not only features Gnarles Barkley, 4th Avenue Jones, Robin Thicke, and Coldplay, but also includes Marvin Gaye, and Herbie Hancock, then cast your vote today. Join the J-Cast for President Movement. The future is in your ears.
