Jay D Clark plays feel good roots, reggae, rock, blues, funky, soulful grooves with conscious catchy lyrical hooks.
Philadelphia independent artist, singer, songwriter, actor, filmmaker, producer, screenwriter, and director Jay D Clark has worked in front of and behind the scenes on many creative projects. He has written and performed original live music for years, including soundtrack work on his own film and video projects – which have played at international film festivals. He recorded his first full LP studio record in 2008 – Fall of the City – with multi-talented Philly music & skate legend Chuck Treece. Treece and rap legend Schoolly D worked on the soundtrack for the historical science-fiction movie Order of the Quest, written, produced-by, and co-starring Clark.
On the Fall of the City record, Chuck Treece arranged, played, and cut almost all of the musical instruments. Treece's impressive work resume includes gigs with acts like Dr. Dre, Bad Brains, Urge Overkill, Pearl Jam, Sting, Billy Joel, Slightly Stoopid, Busta Rhymes, Ricky Martin, The Roots, G. Love, McRad, and Santigold, among others. The record is receiving college & independent radio play nationally and abroad
JDC is currently recording new tracks, performing with a full live band, and setting up shows all over the US.
