Jay Butler is the newest addition to the next class of producer/songwriter talents to break into the music industry and reinvigorate popular music. He brings a versatile style of production that incorporates various styles of music reflected through his own lens. Jay's distinctiveness is in his ability to straddle the lines of different musical genres while maintaining his character within them.



While first introduced to music through Jazz, Soul and R&B records, it was Hip-Hop that pushed Jay to start producing and writing songs. He penned his first verse to the beat of Main Source's "Faking the Funk" to win a bet and has been writing songs ever since.



A few years ago, Jay went on hiatus from making his own music and studied the music of artists who have achieved high levels of success in reaching the masses. This music study helped Jay expand his already creative musical mind, and gave him a more extensive foundation as a producer/songwriter. Jay is constantly looking to collaborate with talented and unique artists (MCs, singer/songwriters, etc.) in order to discover new sounds and reach new musical heights.
