"The much-touted young Bristol-based guitar wizard and songwriter, who has been compared to Richard Thompson, Al Stewart and early Fleetwood Mac, travels in possession of a mean harmonica style and a rapid-fire, Spanish-influenced guitar-picking technique." - 5 best gigs - The Independent
Here's a very nice review of my solo set at Winter's End Festival "Yet another change of style next with James a solo singer/guitarist full of charisma and star quality singing his folky/rock numbers in for me the manner of Cat Stevens who I am sure would have been proud to have written some of the material on display. Really enjoyed the up-tempo Way Down South and the very atmospheric Still Lights Up the Rain complete with the story behind the song, both from his 2007 CD Coming Home to Stay.James combined rich vocals, excellent guitar and great humour between numbers, he played a strong set set finishing with 2 real gems Faster Than Light and the epic Mothership."
I've been wprking as a full-time music professional since 2006 and I'm generally busy doing my own promotion and writing, recording, producing and hand-making CD's of my music, which are for sale at my gigs as well as on i-Tunes, CD Baby, Tune Tribe et al.

"Probably the first thing to strike every listener is James striking voice. The only comparison I can readily make, is to the voice of Tim Buckley, and this is something I do not suggest glibly. Listen to the songs and hear the vocals rise clear and pure, soaring high as they deliver the words. But listen carefully, in places they will drop in pitch to bring emphasis to certain lines and phrases. This is a talent few singers possess and in the right hands it becomes a most effective tool. It is little wonder that legendary producer John Burns (Genesis, Jethro Tull, etc) recently exclaimed "What a voice!" I only wish I'd heard it before now." - Woven Wheat Whispers
