Since planting it on the foggier shores of San Francisco, former Zim-Zims captain Jake Mann teamed up with Crossbill Records' Mike Leahy, releasing Daytime Ghost (2007) and has joined fortunate paths with drummer Dan Baber and guitar wizard Aaron Bellamy, returning (mostly) to his native instrument, bass, and stretching out into some new lyrical territory. Working on an upcoming full-length with long-time collaborators Max Hart (Deathray, We Are Scientists) and Eric Ruud (Sholi, Zim-Zims, Legubitron) the group has put together a sunnier set of tunes than were heard in past efforts. More developed pop sensibilities, further stretches into textured western rock, a tip of the hat to garagey lo-fidelity, and a dive into walls of white noise and radio chatter.

“Bay area natives Mann and his backing trio are texture aces. Mann's adventurous folk-inspired wordplay, psychedelic pop, and traditional structures show influences from Neil Young and Dylan's rambling early years to modern hooks and experimentation paved by Kelley Stoltz." - West Coast Performer

"Bright, slightly tweaked pop." - Aquarius Records
