Jah Thunder is a name that aptly describes this young man with a voice that rings very much like the song of the mighty thunder from above. This experienced artist from David House Crew has been garnering fans all over the world as one of the opening acts for Capleton for the past seven years, though he has been a dedicated entertainer for many years before that.

Jah Thunder was born on the 8th of May 1977 in the Cassia Park area of Kingston Jamaica, and later moved to Papine where he spent the better part of his youth. At birth, Jah Thunder was given the name Omar Oneil Bolt. The combination of his booming voice, the striking energy of his performance, and his surname, Bolt, all came together to inspire his brethrens to give him what they say is his true name Jah THUNDER. Thunder has always had an interest in music and growing up in very close proximity to his cousin, dancehall phenomenon Capleton, gave him an extra edge creatively. He got his inspiration from Capleton, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Burning Spears.

Jah Thunder started to take his music more seriously in 1997 and did his first recording on the African Star Label with the song entitled Badda Badda which created a new slang that a number of artistes reused adding momentum and keeping Badda Badda on the lip of locals and reggae fans around the world. He has since recorded for and with some of Jamaicas most prominent musicians. One is a collaboration with reggae icon Capleton and the Fire Choir called Fire Whoa, and the other is a medley with several of his David House Brothers including Munga Honourable, Little Capes and veteran Major Christie called Whole a Vibes. He has done recording for some of Jamaicas top name producers such as Black Scorpio and Calibud.

Jah Thunder has performed in major venues all over the United States, Canada, Europe and the Caribbean. He has performed in Germany, Belgium, Paris, Rome, Italy and Spain to name a few.
