jah's bio:

Jah-Jah (born Jayson Tull) comes from the ‘hood Stack Bundles referred to it as “home,” alluding to Far Rockaway’s limited means of accessibility, and the choking sense of confinement you might experience upon finding yourself hemmed in by its leaning brick building, windswept beaches, and crooked police.

But what do we know about Far Rockaway, Queens, other than it’s reputation for being the foulest hood in New York?

Far Rock rapper "far rock Jah" will tell you, in addition to it’s derelict history, his hometown is very likely the most slept-on when it comes to talent. But what else is true is that Jah-Jah is putting Far Rock on his shoulders, and laboring his way to the top, doing whatever is necessary to ensure the peninsula a notoriety for something other than it’s ominous proximity to nothing.

This is where a legit hustle-game comes in handy.

A hustler in the truest sense of the word, "far rock Jah’s "reputation in the street is resounding. At 16, a beef with mom dukes put him on his ass, where it swiftly met with the concrete, and sparked a mode of survival famous for kicking in when a nigga’s back is to the wall. No father to speak of, no real family to fall back on, "Jah "could do one of two things: take action, or starve dwelling on life’s difficult truths. far rock Jah took action like a motherfucker.

From buck-twenty packs to them big things, to women and cars, to having money to not having enough – all the highs and lows of "Jah’s" life in the street inform his music. His writing is descriptive, and he has a gift for creative themes, as in “Mirror Song,” where he describes a drunken, all night confrontation with his reflection:

"So I made my move/ one spin/ didn’t use two

Spun around like I was cool, like What you gonna do?

Then I focused, seein’ he had the same gun too/

Same drunk look in his eyes, like What you gonna do?

What I’m gonna do?

Damn, it’s a standoff now/

the sun’s gone down/

still got the gun to his brow ". . .

Those with an appreciation for the full picture will take to "Jah’s" ability to add a detail here and there, bringing the elements into focus in a way only someone who actually lived this shit could
