Intifada

Yallzee (Producer) and Luis Diaz (MC) combined their talents to form the hip hop group Intifada, out of their homeland of Puerto Rico, in order to address the injustices found within Latin America. Through the art forms within the hip hop culture, they've successfully released their self titled album Intifada (2004), as well as Mundo Nuevo (2006) and have been spreading their lyrical message of revolution and independence throughout various countries. They named their group Intifada in order to commemorate the Palestinian rebellion which is felt throughout the world in communities that suffer from social, political, and economic oppression and marginalization. And staying true to the nature of their name, Intifada's lyrics place you at the scene of the struggle, as they are evocative and fiercely poetic. Their work invokes an uprise to the unheard voice for Spanish hip hop and their intentions are to build a foundation through hip hop which surpasses the commercialized music choices and its dumbed-down messages. Intifada's directive is to open the doors for conscious hip hop en Espanol in order to inspire others to instill resistance and to promote education of revolutionary tactics.
