Intec Records was set up by Carl Cox in 1999 to capture and represent the blossoming international techno and house scenes. Cox, who has over twenty years experience at the forefront of global DJing, is one of the few big name DJs who has remained passionate about underground music.

Intecs willingness to dig deep and search for new music was facilitated by Coxs global travels, spotting new talent in the increasingly fragmented techno scene at an early stage. Intec delivered a salvo of releases from electronic musics hottest new producers: Marco Bailey, Deetron, Oxia, Trevor Rockcliffe, Valentino Kanzyani and Bryan Zentz provided the label with consecutive underground hits and ensured Intecs growing reputation.

In 2002 the labels profile was raised further still with 2 monster releases. Notching up sales of 25,000, Sunshine by Belgian act Tomaz vs Filterheadz became one of the best selling underground hits of 2002 and three Ibiza summers under its belt the demand for this record is still unbelievably strong. Renato Cohens Pontapé, a driving slice of Latino techno intensity was one of the top selling techno tracks by any debut techno producer and is still hammered by DJs the world over. Pontapé would later resurface in the form of Just Kick a cheeky re edit by Carl Cox with Tim Deluxs vocal Just Wont Do.

In 2003 the Pure Intec album was born and mixed by front man Cox, helped to put the label firmly on the International map and show the world what it was about. Mixed with only Intecs diverse music strategy in mind it summed up and represented all the artists and music in the only way the label knew how

By 2004 the label had unearthed a plethora of new emerging talent in the shape of Roger Watson, Hiroki Esashika and Cristian Varela, all bringing with the new styles and sounds. A new series of album was also born in 2005 in the shape of Intechnique, the first being mixed by one of the most developed DJs and artists in recent years, Valentino Kanzyani.
