When Vinoth Iyer in summer 2002 met Kåre Nielsen in high school, they soon began planing and realizing their mutual passion for music!



At a drama lesson Kåre Nielsen put up an act for the class with his comedy rap-tribute called Westside Vejle - a describtion of their small hometown, Vejle, seen through the eyes of a street gangster.

Vinoth saw the potential in the simple beat and music at once and wrote his own english vers of it - their first "hit" was created!



Next he introduced Kåre to his childhood friend, Sanga Lingam, who also made music in his spare time and worked at VLR (the Local Radio of Vejle) as a DJ and weekly show host. Together the three of them sat down in Sanga's home studio to reproduce Westside Vejle into a new and better version - it became the first song under the name INNOVATAZ, which was born in early fall 2002. The song was used during their very first stage performance as an intro act for an Outlandish concert at their school in December the same year.



In early 2003 INNOVATAZ played more and more gigs and the following 4 songs became local underground hits, which the boys used in a 5-song show all over town, mostly at schools, youth facilities and private parties.



When summer came and the gratuation was over Sanga moved to the town of Slagelse and Vinoth moved to Copenhagen - INNOVATAZ was on hold! The following months the three of them went on writing music at a low base for them selves and others. Then in February 2004 Sanga and Kåre created the producer team MESSED-UP Productions.



INNOVATAZ was revived time after time at different shows and parties during 2004, but no actual direction nor plan for the band excisted, untill Sanga sent a link to UNIVERSAL MUSIC conserning the song "Like Ur Supposed To" and it got answered at once with the proposition of a meeting with A&R director Phillip Lundsgaard.



Over the course three weeks INNOVATAZ put all their effort in making a requested demo for the label including some of the actual future singles and the deal was set!
