IMPULSS BIO:

In a city overwrought with AK-47 popping, powder bag slinging project cowboys, Impulss is the first Hip hop artist out of New Orleans to conquer the mystique and eccentric side of the culture that the "City That Care Forgot" is most famous for. From Storyville libidos to riverboat casinos, on record and in life, Impulss bathes in New Orleans culture then shows the swagger and lazzie faire that blessed the world with such gems as The Meters, Dr. John, Crawfish Ettouffe' and Ruthie the Duck Girl. From the city that "Puts the FUN In Funeral," Impulss stays true to his Big Easy roots.

With an underground critical acclaim, Impulss has had an exciting career in and out of the N.O. laying tracks with such great artists as Lil' Wayne, AKON, N'Dea Davenport of Brand New Heavies, Tariq L., Joi, The JB Horns, Larry Blakmon, Mr. Khaliyl (Bush Babies), Stevie Wonder, and The Youngbloods.

In addition to his studio collaborations, Impulss has shared stages with Chico DeBarge, Baby Boy, The Coup, Black Sheep, The Pharcyde, Digital Underground, Ladybug Mecca, Cosmic Funk Allstars, Prhymemates, Galactic, T-Kash, and Iselyfe.

In the early days of the new millenium, Impulss was taken under the wing of rap legend Scarface under the Def Jam South label, with Mr. Face calling Impulss' song, "AHH!! WOO!!," the greatest single he ever heard in his life from a debut artist and the beloved Lyor Cohen cursing him as not really Cuban.

Deciding New Orleans is the place to be, in 2004 Impulss moved back home and developed a powerful local and internet following with his street release "The Lagniappe Mixtape." In addition, he has completed 2 national tours with Media Darling Records, filmed an entertaining music video entitled, "Charisma," and was the winner of the 2006 Where Y'at Magazine (a very popular N.O.LA. entertainment mag) 1 Reader's Pick award for Favorite Hip Hop Act, beating out rappers Lil' Wayne and C-Murder, who won slot numbers 2 and 3 respectively. 2007 gained Impulss two of Offbeat magazine's "Best of the Beat Award" nominations for Best Hip Hop/Rap Artist and Best Emerging Artist.

After the tragic events of Hurricane Katrina, 'Pulss was instrumental in re-solidifying the Hip Hop community in a city of residents mostly without electricity. Realizing the rebuilding effort would require people to have a sense that there was something to come home to, Impulss called his connections and gathered his crew to hold the first Hip Hop concert after the storm to rave reviews. After the concert, he continued to hold wildly successful monthly M.C. battles at the popular venue, "One Eyed Jacks."

With the traditions and culture of the Crescent City guiding his creative hand, Impulss is the hottest underground Hip Hop artist of post-apocalyptic New Orleans.
