   Forthcoming Releases

-Moments of A Crisis- " Double CD Compilation" OUT JUNE 8 through Topplers

Here’s I’m a Cliché very first compilation, celebrating 5 years of existence. The label, founded by Cosmo Vitelli, has released 12’’ by artists and producers such as Simian Mobile Disco, Yuksek, Bot’Ox, Runaway, Quiet Village, Tacteel and Tekel among others.

It seemed to be the right moment to take a look at the road behind us while keeping an eye on the future and all the beautiful gems to come.

The compilation, called Moment Of A Crisis, comes in two parts. The first CD, called Overtime, features all the tracks that we view as the label’s classics such as ‘The Mighty Atom’ by Simian Mobile Disco, ‘Everywhere in Town’ by Yuksek, ‘Crashed Cadillac’ by Bot’Ox, ‘Putting in the Overtime’ by Runaway or ‘Delayer’ by Cosmo Vitelli.

The second CD, ‘Holiday’ is all about brand new tracks exclusive to this compilation. It’s a journey through musical genres, from radical rock’n’roll (The Fear, side project of Milo Smee from English weirdos Chrome Hoof) to Surf Music (‘Purple and Green’ by Electronicat or ‘Grease’ by It’s A Fine Line, side project of Ivan Smagghe and Tim Paris).

Dancefloors wont be left behind. The Aussies from The Canyons, the brand new Modular and DFA signature, deliver the killer ‘Blue Snake’, while the New Yorkers Runaway hit us with ‘Your League’, crafted with the same dub-house feel that made laste year’s Rekid release a hit. Dont miss the huge ‘Hungry for the Power’ by Azari & III, a proper hit this year for sure.

ENTERTAINMENT U1988 E.P

Entertainment is a duo. I'm a Cliché will release their first E.P on the 20th of October.

Juan de Guillebon is the bass player. He studied a lot Jaco Pastorius, but decided not to spend the rest of his life playing in jazz rock combos. You can easily guess his attraction to No Wave bands (Suicide or James Chance), Krautrock (his faves are Cluster), or EBM and early electro (DAF). Alongside, he's part of the Ectoplasmic Band, performing as backing band for Tigersushi's boss Joakim.

Antoine Montgaudon plays the guitar, and we bet he'd would have fit perfectly in any Brian Eno's late 70's recording. He builds endless psychedelic atmospheres with feedbacks, loops and FXs. All this only with his guitar. He's also part of My Sister Klaus, a project released on Tigersushi (again).

«U 1988 E.P» It features 5 original tracks on the first side, and 3 remixes by Bot'Ox, Kruton and Michoacan on the second one.

It was produced with Bot'Ox (Cosmo Vitelli and Julien Briffaz) at their studio in Paris.

Supported by James Holden, Pilooski, Padded Cell, Joakim, A-Trak, Jean Nipon, Photonz .

UNCLE O Lp

Let's speak like what we definitely are: fans.

Uncle O is someone we have an unlimited respect for, here at I'm a Cliché.

A restless record digger with an insane record collection, a resident Dj at the mythical Bains-Douches club in Paris at its golden era (82-85), a graphic designer for James White, OMD, The Cure, A Certain Ratio as they were touring in France, and later part of the emerging French hip hop scene (he even appeared on vocals on the seminal French hit « H.I.P – H.O.P », french people will know what it's about!).

He produced occasionnal instrumentals for French hip-hop bands like Assassin, released a few cult records as JACKOS and organised some of the best parties we've been to, here in Paris, the TOXIC nights.

To finish with boring lists, we should mention some of the many compilations of soul breaks, Miami bass anthems or dancehall classics he did, like the « Shaolin Soul » serie, « Champion Sound », or « The Joint », etc…).

We were lucky enough to have lots of his unreleased tracks since ages and we thought that time had come to go for this release, the 14th of I'm a Cliché and its first LP. Everything we like at the moment is inside : Italo gems, weird industrial funk, deviant hip-hop, slow folk-disco…Yeah, it's all in there!

Supported by Trevor Jackson, Tomboy, Trickski, Krikor, Jean Nipon, DJ Morpheus, Roy Dank
