Illstyle

Illstyle, one of Chicago’s up and coming artist representing the true art form of real street hip hop. Michael Robinson, aka, Illstyle grew up on the south side of Chicago where he found his true love: real hip hop. At this age he had influences such as Kool G Rap, Eric B and Rakim, KRS 1 and a host of others. Illstyle began his hip hop career freestyling in ciphers with other mc’s in Chicago. The Buzz he created caught the attention of local independent retail shop owners who asked him to do hip hop commercials for their stores which were advertised on 107.5 fm WGCI and Power 92, the two biggest radio stations in Chicago. He later when on to form a group called The Keepaz which experienced a lot of underground success. They were presented with opportunities to open for artists such as Shawna, Ghostface, Jadakiss, and Ludacris. Tha Keepaz performed in many different venues in and out of state. Illstyle decided to take his career solo and hooked up with an up and coming producer, Shotti from the Bronx. With his hot beats and Illstyle’s lyrics, they have composed powerful, influential music. Illstyle looks to be a force to be reckoned with in the hip hop scene representing Chicago music.
