ALL THREE ARE ORIGINALLY FROM NEW YORK, BUT NOW LIVE AND REP DA 603 AND 978 TOO. ILLA METAPHORS HAS BEEN ON THE GRIND FOR THE PAST FIVE YEARS, DOING SHOW AFTER SHOW, AND HITTING THE STUDIO HARD, RECORDING OVER 100 SONGS. ILLA METAPHORS HAS OPENED UP SHOWS FOR ROB BASE, M.O.P, METHOD MAN, SEAN PAUL, BRAVEHEARTS, TONY SUNSHINE, TERROR SQUAD AND COUNTLESS OTHER INDUSTRY ACTS. ILLA METAPHORS ALSO APPEARED ON HBO, PERFORMNG THE IN RING ENTRANCE SONG FOR BOXER MICKEY WARD. I.M PUTOUT THEIR MIXTAPE ENTITLED DA 603 IZ HERE WHICH IS HOSTED BY JAMN 94.5 DJ SAMMY SMOOVE, AND WAS RELEASED IN MAY 2006 AND MOVED OVER 2 THOUSAND UNITS . ILLA METAPHORS ALSO RELEASED RELEASED VOLUME II IN MAY OF 08. IN AUGUST OF 2009 ILLA METAPHORS RELEASED "HOOD ANTHEMS VOL 1 " WHICH HAS MOVED OVER 1'500 UNITS AND IS STILL GOING STRONG. About the music: Their main goal is to write about real-life issues; their songs include ?Be Careful What You Wish For? and ?Life?s Too Short.? ?Everyone in our group,? frontman Rum says, ?has faced some big issues in life, and we try and get that out in our music.? The group is not all about hardcore music, Rum explains. ?We do party songs and club songs, not just hardcore rap or street rap, also since Luscious is our singer, we have some r&b songs as well that she sings alone.? Illa Metaphors message is not just the usual street talk seen in popular rap songs today, but a message of real problems and issues facing everyone, issues that include love, dreams, and death.
Rapping in the N.H.: Despite the fact that New Hampshire is the whitest state, Illa Metaphors has a huge following. About 500 people attened on of their recent shows. New Hampshire?s homogeneity as it is, is actually an advantage to groups like Illa Metaphors since the hip-hop scene is new and exciting, a breath of fresh air among to the countless country and rock stations on New Hampshire?s airwaves.
