Sophia Lolley's voice defies description. The singer at the center of British electro act I Like It Electric, Lolley manages to be something of a vocal chameleon, embodying almost as many different voices as there are tracks in her discography. The man helping her craft those tracks is co-producer Geoff Hornsby. Together they've fashioned a collection of songs that flirt with different genres and defy description. They like it electric—and judging from their work, eclectic as well.

Listen to Lolley as she intuitively changes tack from one song to the next, pointed and arched one moment ("Do You Want To Or Not?"), lost in blissful reverie ("Pursue (Chasing Me)") the next. Every word she sings, barks or coos is imbued with that quality sorely lacking in 99% of modern pop: Personality. No two performances are alike, yet each strikes a precarious balance between artifice and honesty.

Other producers might falter crafting a single track to complement such a versatile singer. Not Hornsby. Like some sort of madcap cartographer, he creates landscapes full of familiar features—glistening bits of disco, neck-snapping staccato attacks, unexpectedly refreshing break beats—laid out in the most exotic combinations imaginable.

In tandem, I Like It Electric make original music informed by an encyclopedic knowledge of pop from golden eras gone by, yet with eyes and ears fixed on the future.
I Like It Electric and Sophia Lolley's latest single "Do You Want To Or Not" perfectly exempli,,es her ability to meld di,,erent personas and delightful oddities into ultra catchy, utterly unique dance music. Authoritatively giving us an ultimatum at the forefront of the song, Sophia also hypnotizes us with a siren song in her vocal accompaniment, ultimately offering a rich narrative with a complex psychology in the guise of a dance fl,,oor monster jam. With a diverse remix package with from today's hottest producers worldwide, the "Do You Want To Or Not" package has something for everyone. The eclectic package includes a high energy rework from Polish duo Wawa (Kylie Minogue, Empire of the Sun), an über-hip rock infused mix from Whatever Whatever (DFA Records, Sunday Girl), a vintage Giorgio Moroder-esqe mix from Jesse Novak (Mad Decent), a progressive treatment from German producer Dany Wild, an electro clubstomper from Lost Daze (Beyoncé, Armand Van Helden), a jackin' house reheat from NYC duo House of Stank (Get Up Recordings, Afro Acid Digital), and the original extended mix reworked LA's favorite DJ Josh Peace.
