A letter from If Man Is Five:

After eight long years or rocking, If Man Is Five has reached the end of its illustrious career as the premier female dominated metal/punk band in Binghamton NY. With my (Angela’s) imminent departure from Binghamton looming in the wings and the addition of a beautiful baby girl to Brianna’s family we have decided to definitively end our time as If Man Is Five.



We have had a very successful run in this town and abroad. While this is very sad and difficult decision for us to make, it is time. We are so grateful that we can sit back and be proud of this thing we created. This thing that will never die. It will live on the internet and on the radio and in your MP3 players. It will live on in the hearts and ears of those who love music. For music never ends.



We have been so blessed with hundreds of new friends, dozens upon dozens of wonderful experiences, and thousands of fabulous fans. Our list of thanks you’s is insurmountable, and we apologize because as much as we’d like there is no way to thank each and everyone of you who have helped us out along the way. So here it goes.



Thank you to every band who has ever swapped shows with us. From our first shows with Nancy, Pyroxism, Others, to our opportunities to open for major label acts like Overkill and Burnt by the Sun(thank you Kevin Kober). From festivals in Michigan to festivals in Toronto.



We’ve had the opportunity to meet so many other amazing musicians up and down the east coast and into our sister country of Candadian. To Mopa of the G-Men and Murdersquad from Toronto to Charles of Dark Eden in NYC, to the Loiterers of Cortland NY and to Michelle and all of the Girls Rock Girls Rule ladys of NYC and we do not want to forget the awesome ladys musicians of Dormitory Effect. From Cheers to Magic City, Ranelle’s to DTQB. CBGB’s to Sneaky Dee’s, Brendar’s Barn to Phrank’s Basment.



Thank you to the many supportive people in our lives. Our families and friends, and significant others. Your support and patience made all the hard work a little easier.



Thank you to every bar that has ever housed us. Every amp we’ve ever borrowed and speaker we have blown. Thank you to Mark and Josh who wrote our first reviews. George who has been our fifth Beatles this whole time, if you will. To Evan and the McNamara’s, 40 Odd Magnate, Others, Brendan Oneil, Nancy and C3 who really helped us blossom in our early days. Thank you to all the musicians and promoters helping keep the local music scene alive.



To Azkath, Ayraedea, Aethyric Productions and everyone at Last Exit for the Lost in Ithaca who helped us realize our greater potential and helped us reach a whole new level. Thanks you to Azkath, Mike Benson and Matt Johnson for playing our songs and having us live on your radio shows many times!



Thank you to Mob Day and the Loiterers for playing our last show. It meant so much to us to celebrate our tenure as a band with friends and other musicians we respect so highly.



Thank you to everyone who took part in this very special time in our lives. To the fans all over the world in Canada, England, France, Germany, China, Australia, Brazil, who bought our album online or the Serbian radio station that spinned us. We literally couldn’t have done any of this without the help and support of all of you wonderful people. We owe our grand experience to you as much as to ourselves.



So thank you all. Thank you for the memories and thank you for the music.
