Ibis Lawrence

Growing up in the Caribbean, between The Commonwealth of Dominica and the Virgin Islands, Ibis was exposed to a wide variety of Caribbean and American musical styles, and then introduced to African music. Along with his Rastafarian philosophy, he then fused them to create a mix of warm soothing sounds and powerful messages. Ibis is a well seasoned artist who has been in the business for over 20 years. He has written, produced and arranged albums for some of Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean's hottest acts, including the well-known African artist, Alpha Blondy, Secteur-A and so much more He's also performed with the pioneers of modern Eastern Caribbean music such as Exile One, Grammack's Jeff Joseph, Bankie Banx and Jimmy Cliff just to name a few.

Ibis caught the music bug at an early age and by 15, he was playing the guitar and percussions in a band named "Axis". Later in high school, Ibis went on to form his own band called "Dread Ones". Since then, he has mastered several other instruments including keyboards.
