Hard Punk 'n' Roll since 1994 – NOW WE'RE DEAD!!!!

!

One could think that punkrock is past and forgotten. It was in the late 70s and early 80s when this movement reached its climax, as it spread over from England to other European cities. The music, socially not accepted in those times, was often played loudly in private cellars or backyards, always connected with squatting, riots and the smell of tear gas. Until End of 2006 "Hukedicht", a band from Winterthur, Switzerland, presentes their sweat loaded, beer soaked rock'n'roll, one-hundred percent electric and straightforward. There were not the slightest sign of so called "suitable for radio" songs on it. Refreshingly different and wonderful.

The only digital thing for Hukedicht were their CDs. Everything else was completely analogue. Synthesizers? Keyboards? How awful! These five punkrockers played for the moment. They were heavy manual labourers, they didn't fiddle around with their songs. In short, they firmly refused to become pop stars.

In a repetitively flawless, sometimes nerve-racking way, Hukedicht added one track to another. They just kept playing on and on, instead of arranging their music. They didn't care about musical montages, ballads or quiet melodies. Led by singer Elvis Trinkel, Hukedicht played aggressively to release their anger, lust and frustration, but they never composed or corrected. If you didnt know they come from Winterthur, you would be convinced that these guys were the answer to punkmusic played in the ghettos of major European cities.
