Emmanuel Kembe is a multilingual Reggae, Folk and Afro-Pop singer and song writer from Southern Sudan. He was driven out of Sudan because of his popular protest songs. Kembe fled to the United States where he continue to write songs that cries out for peace, justice and freedom in his homeland with simple messages of love and faith.
He was born in to a family with tradition in music. His grand father Kembe Millie was a well known folklore singer of the Gbaya (Keresh) ethnic group in Western Bahr El-Ghazal State in Southern Sudan. Music has become a natural aspiration and gift of Emmanuel Kembe.
In 1978 he joined the choir group of Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Wau, where he learned additional music skills. He also listened extensively to legendry musicians such as the King of Reggae music Bob Marley of Jamaica, Mama Africa Miriam Makeba of South Africa, the King of Soukous Franco Makiadi of Kinshasa Congo, and Shurhabil Ahmed a famous Sudanese Jazz singer.
Emmanuel Kembe has recorded five albums CD to offer healing messages of love and peace.
