ARBOL

Árbol se formó a fines del año 94 en el oeste del Gran Buenos Aires y desde ese momento se caracterizaron por mezclar instrumentos y ritmos bastantes exóticos para el rock actual. De a poco se fue convirtiendo en una banda versátil con dos fuertes voces al frente que no teme en mezclar violines con distorsión, rap con percusión ni reggae con chacarera. En 1996 debutaron con Jardín Frenético, un álbum de 12 tracks grabado de manera independiente que llegó a manos de Gustavo Santaolla, su productor con quien firmaron su primer contrato discográfico.
Entre junio y agosto del 98 visitaron Los Ángeles (USA) para grabar y mezclar su primer disco oficial bajo el sello Surco-Universal titulado ÁRBOL. Bajo la producción de Santaolalla y Aníbal Kerpel, Tony Peluso (ex Carpenters) y Joe Cicarelli, se registran las 14 canciones que darían forma a esta producción para luego emprender una gira de promoción por USA, México y Chile.
Ya en el año 2002 se editó CHAPUSONGS, su segundo disco también producido por Santaolalla y su equipo y grabado en Los Ángeles. Compuesto por 13 canciones que terminan de definir la personalidad musical de Arbol, este fue el álbum con el que giraron por toda la Argentina. También se presentaron en Uruguay junto a los mexicanos Molotov dónde se llevaron las mejores críticas por parte del público y la prensa local. Además ésta segunda producción fue elegida por la revista Rolling Stone Argentina entre los cinco mejores discos del año 2003. Este disco alcanzó la categoría de disco de PLATINO.
Con la salida de su tercer álbum titulado GUAU! en octubre de 2004 el más exitoso de la banda, que fue producido artísticamente por Gustavo Santaolalla y en esta ocasión también por Árbol, el CD fue elegido entre los mejores discos del año por la revista Rolling Stone Argentina, el suplemento Si! del diario Clarín y además obtuvo gran repercusión en el medio artístico en general, reflejadas en las 6 nominaciones de CAPIF para los premios Gardel 2005, además de la séptima como mejor canción del año por Pequeños Sueños en la radio FM HIT y el cual se ganó en una votación abierta con mas del 40% de los votos de los oyentes de la radio: este premio es avalado por toda la industria discográfica nacional. También fueron nominados como mejor artista Sur para la edición de los premios MTV Latinoamérica 2005. GUAU! alcanzó la categoría de disco de PLATINO.
En 2007 lanzan “Hormigas”, el álbum anticipa el concepto de fuerza productiva y creativa a partir del trabajo de grupo: las hormigas son seres diminutos y de apariencia insignificante, incapaces de realizar grandes logros en forma individual; sin embargo, al unir fuerzas son capaces de llevar adelante obras inmensas. Dando lugar a la analogía, así se sienten los integrantes de Árbol frente a Hormigas, su nuevo disco. Hormigas resulta toda una experiencia de principio a fin a lo largo de las 14 canciones. La fusión de estilos recrea una convivencia de géneros como el hardcore y el folk e incluso hay lugar para un coqueteo “ochentoso”. Con este disco la banda vuelve a girar por Latinoamérica teniendo varias presentaciones en la cuidad de Méjico y alrededores, en Rock al Parque de Colombia, uno de los festivales gratuitos más grandes del continente, en Uruguay, Paraguay y Chile. Asimismo demostrando lo propio en todos los festivales masivos de Buenos Aires y del interior del país.
"No me etiquetes", su quinta producción de estudio, sale a fines de octubre del 2009, producido por su cantante y reconocido productor musical, Pablo Romero. Con este disco nos vuelven a mostrar la versatilidad de la banda mezclando diferentes estilos musicales como demuestra el primer corte de difusión llamado “El sábado en Ramos” donde incursionan en la música electrónica, un ritmo antes inexplorado por la banda. Trabajando de manera independiente, pero no por esto con menos actitud, los 11 tracks que conforman el flamante disco son un fiel reflejo de la fuerza y el espíritu a los que Árbol nos tiene acostumbrados. /
Árbol was formed by the end of 1994 at the west of Gran Buenos Aires (Argentina) and since that moment they were characterized for mixing quite exotic instruments and rhythms for the present rock. Little by little it became turning a very versatile band that does not fear to mix rap with percussion nor reggae with “chacarera” or punk with classical music.
In 1996 they made their debut with “jardín frenético”, a 12 tracks album recorded in independent way which arrived to the hands of Gustavo Santaolla.
Between June and August of 1998 they visited Los Angeles (USA) to record and mix its first official record “ARBOL” under the label SURCO-Universal. With the artistic production of Santaolalla and Aníbal Kerpel, with the ingeniers Tony Peluso (ex-Carpenters) and Joe Chicarelli they registered the 14 songs that would give form to this album soon to undertake a promotional tour by the USA, Mexico, Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile.
By 2002 “Chapusongs” was published, its second album also produced by Santaolalla and his team and recorded in Los Angeles. Made up of 13 songs that finish defining ÁRBOLs musical personality. This second album was chosen by the Rolling Stone magazine (Argentina) between the five best records of 2003.
With the release of their third album titled “GUAU!” in October of 2004, which was produced by Gustavo Santaolalla and in this occasion also by Árbol, the CD was again chosen between the best albums of the year by the Rolling Stone magazine (Argentina), the supplement “Si!” from “diario Clarín” and it also obtained great repercussion in the artistic world, reflected by the 6 nominations of CAPIF to the record industry for the “Gardel” awards 2005.
On October 18th (2007) HORMIGAS was released in CD and CD+DVD by the “PopArt Discos” label. This is the fourth official album of the band and technically the first to be produced artistically just by them. “Hormigas” results a whole experience from head to toe all along the fourteen songs that complete the track list. The fusion of styles recreates a gender coexistence (opposite in theory) as hardcore and folk and even “eighties” flirtations. As well, there is an emphasis at the vocal arrangements and individual attention to the lyrics, which give big interest to each song. The cover art is much more that a superficial aesthetic necessity and adds to the general concept proposed by “hormigas”.
The album was recorded during the months of June and September in “Panda” and “Chinchivichi” studios of Buenos Aires in three different stages: first it had Claudio Romandini as recording technician who was released at the following phase by Damián Chorovicz, being Mariano Lopez who completed the final stage. The mastering was in charge of Tom Baker at the “Precision Mastering” studios of Los Angeles. The guest musicians (and friends from the heart) were “Fernando Ruiz Díaz” (Catupecu Machu) and “Los Tipitos”.
From there, the band will begin with its national and international tours, where they are already confirmed for the main Argentinean festivals Quilmes Rock in Córdoba, Rosario, San Juan for later going on with its already successful tour by the Argentinean Patagonia and the Atlantic Coast, crossing to Uruguay, Paraguay and Chile.
It is also confirmed their participation in the Vive Latino 2008 festival in Mexico, initial kick to its tour through that country, where will also be published Hormigas by the label Warner, from there they’ll go to the west cost of United States and later to the east coast of that country, but before following course to Spain to participate in different Showcases and to publish the latest production (this will be the first visit of ÁRBOL to Spanish ground). Once back to Argentina, the band will close their tour playing at the Luna Park Stadium in June of 2008.
“No me etiquetes” their fifth studio release, comes in late October 2009, produced by renowned singer and musical producer, Pablo Romero. With this album we again show the versatility of the band mixing different musical styles as evidenced by the first cut of broadcast called "El sabado en Ramos" where venture into electronic music, a rate previously unexplored by the band. Working independently, but not so with less attitude, the 11 tracks that make up the brand new album are a reflection of the strength and spirit to which we are accustomed by “Árbol”.
