.Hotness on Hiatus?

Yes, Hotness has been on hiatus since late 2008. Where are we now, you might ask? Paul is blasting out vocals and rocking the hammond in Black Irish. Carl is plucking the bass in Darling Imperial. and Skippy is now schooling the drums in none other than Detroit's own The Sights.booyah, that's right!!

.so what is Hotness?

Formed in late 2004, the Detroit based band Hotness meticulously fine-tuned their sound and live show much akin to a classic car buff that restored their 70’s Mustang.

Influenced by those that came before such as The Faces, Humble Pie, T-Rex, Zeppelin and Queen, we longed not to reinvent the wheel, but to simply put some kick ass rims on it.

Some achievements in our five year stretch:

opened for a few sweet national and regional bands: Bad Company, We are the Fury, and Dirty Americans

featured twice on PBS in an episode of Rock and Roll Safari

wrote a track (Peppermint Patti) for The Sweet Sounds of Detroit Volume One compilation, which was nominated for a 2007 Detroit Music Award

carried a 450lb. Hammond organ as we toured throughout the Midwest

Our first LP, 3rd Time's A Charm, produced by the fabulous Jim Diamond (White Stripes/The Dirtbombs/The Sights) was released in January 2008. You can preview all 10 tracks and pick up a copy at

CD Baby today.

3rd Time's A Charm is now digitally distributed. you can purchase the album or select songs from

iTunes.

.PRESS and REVIEWS.

"Pedal-to-the-metal solos and rough, unremitting percussion, bring-the-house-down-blues-rock with a sexy swagger between the dark druggy allure of the Lizard King, the smokey glam-poeticism of Mark Bolan and the virulent bravado of Zeppelin; stellar debut LP, well produced, aptly capturing the explosive energy of their '70s-blues-rock revival." - J. Milo of Real Detroit Weekly

"[.] Though it's the group's first LP, "3rd Time's a Charm" explodes with rock-veteran prowess." - Rachel May of The Detroit Free Press

"[.] In my mind, this CD is a well-produced, well-written, homage to all that is & was great, in that down-and-dirty, my woman left me, but there are others out there, musical anarchy that has been the last 50 years of Rock-and-Roll." - www.detroitrockreview.com

"[.] They are a band that are not afraid to put it out all out there with a force that can knock the wind right out of you time and time again with every listen. Quite frankly there are very few younger rock bands that can take those classic elements and master them near flawlessly on a debut release." - Jere of Shipwreck Island Studios

"Hotness put it all out there, putting on a performance well worth drive across town. Their heavy blues driven rock & roll will have you wishing that you never got rid of that green ’71 Mustang your girlfriend hated. These guys play the kind of music that would make Joe Cocker blush, knowing theses guys were on his heals." - Kevin Killough of myFoxDetroit

"Hotness overall has a sound reminiscent of everything you loved about 70’s rock! This is guitar rock, pure, simple, unadulterated. And vocalist

Paul Barning’s sultry vocals call back to the glory of The Faces, or The Stones (during the Let It Burn era!)." - www.almostfamouszine.com
