Zespól Horrida powstal w Cieszynie we wrzesniu 2001 roku z inicjatywy Dominique, która wraz z Damienem (gitara) i Grzegorzem (bas) postanowila stworzyc grupe jedyna w swoim rodzaju, nieobliczalna i chora. Druzgocacy klimat niewielkiej miejscowosci na poludniu Polski nie sprzyjal jednak rozwojowi czegokolwiek - a zwlaszcza muzycznych ambicji jej mieszkanców, czego konsekwencja byly diabelnie czeste zmiany osobowe w zespole. Niemniej nie zrazilo to "Zalozycielskiej Trójcy", rozsmakowanej juz w sceniczych ekscesach, do poszukiwania person reprezentujacych najbardziej skrajne charaktery i wybredne gusta muzyczne. Tym to sposobem, wczesnym pazdziernikiem 2003 roku do zespolu dolaczyl perkusista Karol Niezgoda, a w grudniu 2007 r. gitarzysta Kamil Chalupka.
Horrida ewoluowala i ewoluuje czerpiac inspiracje z wielu nie zawsze muzycznych zródel. Zainteresowani ekstremami kazdej masci, czesto galopujemy w rejony o przeciwstawnej tresci. Moze wiec dlatego, wedlug wielu pseudo tegich glów muzyki bylismy juz zespolem rockowym, metalowym, progmetalowym, alternatywnym, gotyckim, industrialnym a nawet punkowym, wobec czego przechodzimy co najmniej obojetnie lub nawet z zainteresowaniem.
Przez lata dzialalnosci zdarzyly sie nam dziesiatki niewygranych przegladów, tysiace uszczypliwych opinii, wystepy dla pustych sal, trzy niewydane plyty ale takze emisje radiowe w najbardziej egzotycznych krajach swiata, bisy dluzsze niz same koncerty, tysiace glów przed scena oraz setki listów i wiadomosci od osób nie wiadomo skad, których slowa nieustannie budza w nas nadludzkie sily. Istniejemy i tworzymy, nie jestesmy pokorni.
Horrida was formed in Cieszyn (Poland) in September 2001. The initiative was Dominique's, so along with Damian and Grzegorz they set their sight on composing awesome, soft, at the same time blazing and unpredictable music.
The rest of the band members have changed several times. In October 2003 Karol Niezgoda joined up with the band, and precisely one year later Lukasz, the guitarist, did alike.
In its time, Horrida was considered as one of the band responsible for creating the gothic metal genre and released demo and a full-length that fell under this genre. The first demo "Ptak" (2002) and "Libra" (2003), which is more familiar for a wide range of listeners, were just that.
In fact, there was a point there, yet the distinctive band style was formed by playing along with and a numerous musical know-how. The way of playing seriously diverged from the original artistic work. The band's primary features are Dominique's deep and stunning lyrics, as well as, superb and unique rhythm section. They are complemented by resounding guitars and the tone of synthesizer that contrasts with a soft, acoustic parts - "Budz sie" (2007) - this demo conveys the true vibes.
From the early beginning the group has intensively paid attention to gig activities, such as the participation in three editions of Poznan Dark Festival, the event for gothic.pl web portal, a concert tour - Abracadabra Gothic Tour 2006, as well as, touring performances with the greatest, national, musical stage stars. The band's works have been radio broadcasted many times in not only Poland but also abroad.
As a matter of fact, Horrida is in a way metal family - we are more or less closely related to each other, except for Dominique, nevertheless we will see. That is why we often spend time together. We know each other very well, we know each other's sense of humour. As it is in a family, apart from being funny during amusing rehearsals and concert trips, there are also many various humorous and less waggish jokes.
Horrida is looking for people who are willing to support band's activities by means of the gigs organizing and taking action in order to promote band's work in the media and local broadcasting stations.
