With the increasing dominance of southern-based rap in the music industry combined with the constant criticism that southern-based artists seem to receive within the hip-hop community for thier lack of lyrical ingenuity, it only makes sense that the next big thing to emerge from the south would be HOOLIGAN-X. His delivery is unquestionably southern from his rapid fire flow to his country-cool drawl yet his multi-syllable rhyme schemes, clever metaphors and witty punch lines are what put him ahead of the pack and rank him amongst some of the most elite m.c’s of all time.
After spending most of his adolescent years in and out of various juvenile detention centers and court appointed programs, HOOLIGAN-X finally graduated up to the county jail at the age of 18 and then finally a 7 year bid in prison that would prove to be the single most pivotal moment in his life. Shut off from the outside world, HOOLIGAN-X dove into his music head first, writing daily, honing his skills and perfecting his craft. He worked diligently, experimenting with different styles and deliveries in order to create an identity of his own in an industry oversaturated with artists who seemed content to emulate one another. After winning all of the prison talent shows that he entered and destroying countless competitors on the rec. yard, HOOLIGAN-X became a legend through out the Florida prison system and finally, after realizing how much people appreciated his gift he decided that he was going to put the street life that had landed him in prison on the back burner and dedicate himself entirely to his music career.
In 2006, fresh out of prison and seeking a new begining, HOOLIGAN-X moved to Houston, TX and flooded the streets of Houston as well as the Orlando and Tampa areas of Florida with his self financed and highly regarded debut c.d. “X’d OUT”. Once his reputation as being an 'official' artist began to spread, HOOLIGAN-X kept momentum on his side by dropping 3 more mixtapes over the next 2 years. His energetic live performances created a buzz in Houston and after impressive openings for noteworthy artists such as Lil Keke, ESG, Big Pokey and the Boss Hog Outlaws he bacame a favorite of artist, promoters and fans as well.
After 3 years of living in Houston & learning the politics of there over-saturated music industry, HOOLIGAN-X returned home to Orando, FL and began implementing what he had learned. It wasnt long before the groundwork paid off and eastside orlando "Dezel Headbangerz" front man 'Streets' recognized HOOLIGAN-X's potential and recruited him into DH.
HOOLIGAN-X’s true life experiences combined with his lyrical skills and a versatile delivery that often times ranges from pure silky smoothness on tracks like ‘Freak Like Me’ and ‘Gangsta Girl’ to bile venom and perfectly channeled aggression on tracks like ‘Time Served’ and ‘Killin Field’ are sure to please the ears of even the pickiest music fans. It’s apparent that HOOLIGAN-X is here to state his claim at the top of the industry and his undeniable talent combined with his unparalleled work ethic leave little room for doubt that his time is now… Prepare to be X’d out…
