Hookdiggy first picked up his first pen to write a rhyme back in 1991 after being influenced by The Dayton Family (TDF) when they released an independent tape of their music in his birthplace of Flint, MI. To him, TDF set the trend for the independent artist. Watching them go from a studio tape, to an out of the trunk release was admirable to him, and so he began to write. He donned the term Lyrical Nerd Boy, calling himself a nerd growing up and blending his love of hip-hop to coin the phrase.

Under his previous moniker, “Hookdignious”, he would go on to release several group albums until his first independently released solo album titled “Octopia” in 2003. In 2007, he released the single for his new album Solvent Induced Euphoria called “Give It Ya Best”. The album, originally set for a 2008 release, was pushed back due to label and management changes. In 2009, he had the opportunity to work with Redman and Melanie Rutherford on the track “A Lil ‘Bit” off of the Method Man & Redman Blackout 2 album with his production company, SilverHook Studios. For more information on Hookdiggy, visit his website at www.hookdiggy.com
