HONEY DON'T was formed in 2005 by people comin from different musical backgrounds. Basically from the noise one to the psychedelic r'n'r music (the bands were and are D.EVIL, WITH LOVE, HOBO). And thats what you'll realize and experience when you'll listen to this cd. Some mates playing alternative r'n'r folk and punk mixed naturally together in a personal way, with no limits and no reference points. Their strenght and their particular vision of music make the HONEY DON'T sound unique!!

Honey Don't "Don't Ask Me" 7"

Honey Don't describe their music as "some mates playing alternative r'n'r folk and punk mixed naturally together in a personal way, with no limits and no reference points". I'd say that's about right. The Italian trio is comprised of Nene (bass), Hated White (guitar, vocals), and Baloo (drums). Guesting on this debut record is harmonica star Gero, who can really wail. I like what I'm hearing here. There are hints of early Stones or Italian compatriots The Mojomatics, but the groove is pretty original in its mash-up of blues, hillbilly folk, and just plain weirdness. The most palpable sign of a punk influence is not in speed or aggression but rather in the sense that these dudes follow no rules and make their own kind of noise. "You Make Me Sad" is my favorite of the three tracks - definitely a wild, crazy ride rooted in backwoods Americana and then fired off into parts unknown. Neat.

HONEY DON’T Don’t Ask Me 7“

ganz andere, leicht debile Stimmung verleihen.

(7) Alex Strucken OX #.71
