~ YOU ARE LISTENING TO HOMEGROWNSOUNDS (part of the HGS-NetWorkMusicCo-op) ~ HGS-NetWorkMusicCo-op is an independent co-operative of connections from around the globe dedicated to producing music that enlightens, writing lyrics that inspire and promoting events that communicate the values of peace and international solidarity. We are a not-for-profit organisation committed to raising awareness of injustice, and engaging marginalised youth groups in creative platforms for change through lyricism, music production, hosting events/workshops and supporting positive organisations and movements. ~ ~ HGS-NetWorkMusicCo-op is an independent co-operative of connections from around the globe collaborating with the likes of DJ Snuff and Logic from Peoples Army, Spitz of Studio 18, DJ Loxely of Dalston Production Studios, DJ Yenz from Herbal Mafia and Benjamin Zephaniah. ~ On the 12th of December 2010 we released 'The World Citizens Sessions 2010, Vol.1' a compilation of tracks composed and produced by Picking Splinters and DJ Hertz, featuring the likes of Vanson MC, Whyso Bittah and Iona Rowan. It was mastered by Vast Minority. ~ DJ Hertz and Vanson, under the HGS-NetWorkMusicCo-op label, independently released a 4 Track E.P called THEGRASSROOTSREVOLUTION - Peace, Participation & Pacifism. It was launched at the HOMEGROWNREVOLUTIONS night, a HGS-NetWorkMusic event, held in collaboration with People's Army and Herbal Mafia at Corsica Studios on the 11/09/2008. ~ We hope to bring more great sounds and positive vibes soon, check Recent News for more info.
