Vacations aren’t supposed to be about work. Nor are they supposed to be about discovering your life’s true calling. For Montrealer HollyDish however, a trip to the exotic island of Maui did just that. What had begun as a simple holiday quickly escalated into much more, as the songstress decided to remain on the island for eight months while performing with local band, Crazy Fingers.



Returning to her hometown in October of 2006, one thing had become certain for HollyDish: Music would now have to be a major, and vital, part of her daily existence. Combining everything she learnt from Crazy Fingers with her past years of experience as an emcee in some of Vancouver’s and Whistler’s hottest clubs (where she shared the stage with DJs Knowledge, Kenya, Seko and Praise, and more), HollyDish immediately hit the studio with local producer, Voyce.



Within months her debut album, Dishology, was crafted. Showcasing an eclectic mix of styles, you can call Dishology pop, you can call it hip-hop, but whatever you call it, its goal is clear: Inspire girls to proudly show off what they’re all about, and get guys nodding their heads in approval.
