Hofstone

Im Hofstone, a.k.a Anders von Hofsten.

I love music and music loves me. Thats how I feel about it.

Its gotta be mutual, you know.



I sing and play the piano. Most of the words come out in english, but also in swedish and sometimes even in portuguese!!!

And I produce and compose a lot, mostly hanging around my cosy basement studio in the centre of Stockholm, Sweden.

But I really love playing live too, with my proud and swinging band!



I used to have a big soul orchestra called The Family Tree.

We did an album called Rouse! some 10 years ago.

I got tired of travelling with overweight and bought a sampler.

It kind of worked as my mini Hitachi tape recorder, on which I started recording at an age of seven, drumming my knuckles on the kitchen table (mummy irritated) and singing newly composed 50s songs (heavily inspired by the King.).

Then a couple of years ago my first solo album came out: Bottom of a heart. Its a mellow mishmash journey through my soulsearching mind and body. Check it out!



I have my own record label, Soul Dog Records.

On it, except for Hofstone, Ive released and co-produced first european album Samba Makossa with marvellous brazilian singer Simone Moreno and her swinging band Os Lourinhos. I also play keys and sing in that band. We play a lot round the northern hemisphere. Look out!
