Secret Codes currently consists of 5 members active in the Portland music community. The project began as a solo project for composer songwriter David Kyle and now has evolved into a full band. The music is not tied to any specific genre but clearly has its own sound and voice. Many of the pieces resemble classical compositions while adding post rock, jazz, ambient, and math rock elements. Secret Codes covers a full range of instrumentation with carefully arranged horns, flute, keys, dissonant guitar riffs, meandering bass lines, and powerful drumming. Also a bunch of really nice people.
